For more than 30 years, the case of the BTK killer was one of the biggest unsolved serial killer mysteries in America. I heard about this BTK killer long before I came in the United States. I also read about it when I started my criminal justice studies. The BTK killer killed 10 people in and around Wichita, Kansas between 1974 and 1991. The local police department and FBI agents spent almost 30 years analyzing the notes from the killers and interviewing thousands of suspects, however, they were never able to get closer the Dennis Rader. After many years of improvement in Forensic analysis, came a break through. In 2004, after more than 10 years of silence from the BTK killer, he started sending communications to the police again. Here come the break in the 30 years of the biggest unsolved serial killer mysteries in America. Dennis Rader sent a document created a Microsoft Office on a floppy disk. Police and FBI quickly checked Dennis background. There were many documentary evidences that link Dennis Rader to the killings including the tissue sample that came from Dennis Rader’s 26 years old daughter’s medical records. According to the Eagle Newspaper, investigators took it without her knowledge, to keep Rader from discovering they were zeroing in on him. Also according to Gov. Kathleen Sebelius. Police obtained semen from the crime scenes, even though the killer did not sexually assault his victims.
