Instead of 3 years for all of the dogs, they should have 3 years for every dog they are found to have along with a fine of $500,000 because of how they treat these dogs, what can happen to dogs even after they are rescued, and the injuries these dogs are forced to inflict on each other. Both dogs can end up with several wounds, some being very severe. They end up with ripped flesh, lacerations, blood loss, puncture wounds, broken and crushed bones (ASPCA). “A convicted dogfighter wrote, "Miss Rufus spent most of the rest of the fight on her back and Bandit broke her other front leg high up in the shoulder, as well as one of her back legs, in the knee joint. The only leg she didn’t break she chewed all to hell. She had literally scalped Miss Rufus, tearing a big chunk of skin off the top of her head alongside one ear."(The Humane Society of the United States). Some dogs are even left with part of their face missing if not their whole snout destroyed. Dogs used in dogfighting will often die due to exhaustion, shock, infections, blood loss and dehydration (The Human Society of the United States). Not every dogfight will end in death at the ring, but many dogs will later succumb to their injuries just like Stallone did, but not with people loving them, not with people who care for them, but alone and scared. If the owner did not find the losing dog to be valuable in the first place they will abandon, kill, or leave the dog with their injuries untreated
