The settlers of Roanoke disappeared in the late 1580s. The Roanoke was first founded by Sir Walter Raleigh, an english explorer. This is reviewed as one of the greatest mysteries in history. They additionally call this The Lost Colony. There had been theories made, yet nobody realizes what truly happened to the colonists. Archeologists, today are as yet attempting to figure out what had happened to "The Lost Colony." Having land was force and power. This is the reason the settlers traveled to The New World, under Queen Elizabeth. Sir Walter Raleigh, John White, Sir Richard Greenville, and Ralph Lande, led a group of 117 individuals from The New World on May 8, 1587. This was Queen Elizabeth's idea to win power against Spain. At the point when traveling, they required the upcoming summer to be a hurricane season. They were not prepared and suffered from little food supply. Roanoke always relied on other groups such as the Indians for food and different ideas. Roanoke would hold the Indians hostage and kidnapped them to gain intelligence. John White who was now the newest governor at the time of the colony, left all the additional supplies to return back with more. While John was gone there were no ships to use in order to get back onto the island. The next time John was able to get back onto the island was three years later when he returned with supplies, he had found the island deserted. Years before colonists came to Roanoke Island, the colony began to slip and hit rock bottom. Sir Walter Raleigh was one of the ones to run Roanoke and decided to try to build the colony back up.
