In the United States alone, there are approximately 6.4 million kids between the ages of 4-17 that are diagnosed with Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). This is a mental disorder, which causes above-normal levels of hyperactive and disruptive behaviors. People who have ADHD tend to have a difficult time with sitting still, paying attention and controlling their impulses. Originations such as the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Healthline have created websites to help those in need. These websites not only inform the reader, but they use rhetoric to persuade individuals they should get their child checked out for ADHD. The reader is lead to trust the creditability of the website, as the government has funding to hire the best quality doctors, allowing the reader to receive the most accurate information possible. On their website someone is able to find out who the company leaders are by selecting “About CDC-leadership” tab. Here the reader can access who is in charge, and how they are creditable. The website has an organization chart to inform the reader how the company is set up. By selecting an individual on the site, the reader is redirected to who the person is, what their position is, a photo, their career highlights, and their social media accounts. This feature on the website it gives the employees lots of creditably thus reassuring the reader. According to the CDC website, their mission statement is “CDC works 24/7 to protect America from health, safety and security threats, both foreign and in the U.S. Whether diseases start at home or abroad, are chronic or acute, curable or preventable, human error or deliberate attack, CDC fights disease and supports communities and citizens to do the same.” ("Mission, Role and Pledge"). The Healthline website does a skillful job providing quality information about ADHD. On their website they have different links about how the reader can tell if their child has ADHD, how to cope with it, and also how to make their child successful. Another great feature the Healthline website provides is information on its articles such as: who wrote it, publication date, who and when the article was reviewed before publishing. One important detail left out is when the article was updated. Overall, Healthline does an exceptional job on providing a solid amount of logical
