I could've never imagined myself to be a health care professional, caring for another person, being responsible for their life. Eastern Suffolk B.O.C.E.S Licensed Practical Nursing Program has had such a positive influence on me and my life. The program has guided me towards my career goal of becoming a health care professional. This program doesn't only teach medical information, but has taught me to become a responsible,mature and selfless young adult. Trusted by a clinical instructor who doesn't even know your name, off you go to receive report and begin your care for this patient. Your adrenalin rockets sky high right before you open your mouth to say "Hello, Mr./Mrs. whomever, my name is *insert name* and I am going to be your Student Practical Nurse today." My first day at the clinical site was slow in the morning, performing usual morning care, until I hear an alarm sounding throughout the entire unit, doctors, nurses and all staff members running with carts, yelling "CODE BLUE, CODE BLUE, GET THE CRASH CART" Us students wondering what's going on, run behind the entourage and try to sneak a peek into the room to see the doctor's performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and charging the AED pads to 100 joules yelling "ALL CLEAR." When the patient was revived and back to a normal sinus rhythm, I released the biggest sigh of relief ever. That was when I knew I belonged in the healthcare setting. The rush you get that goes from your head to your toes, the widened eyes, this feeling you get like you are on top of a cliff and you could fall at any second, that makes it all worth
