Muhammad Ali is a retired professional boxer. He started boxing because when he was 12 years old, him and his friend left their bikes to go get free hot dogs and popcorn from the louisville home show, when Muhammad and his friend came back Muhammad’s bike was gone. He went to report this to officer joe martin, he told him he was going to beat the person who stole his bike when he finds out who it was. Martin told him he needs to know how to fight first. Since he was so furious he decided to started training with boxing coach Joe E. Marting. He would always train even when he didn't go to the gym he would get up early to train himself. He was always very dedicated to his training. Ali was one of the greatest american boxers in sports history. When he was twenty-two years old he won the world heavyweight championship in a match against Sonny Liston. He was stripped from his title three years after winning it due to draft evasion. After this happened Ali did not fight for almost four years. Muhammad Ali refused to be drafted because of his religious beliefs and his objection to be part of the vietnam war. Muhammad returned to his boxing career on October 26, 1970. A while after Muhammad Ali returned to his career, he won back the titles that were taken from him due to his accusation a couple years back. He won his titles by fighting against Sonny Liston, Joe Frazier, and George Foremen. His fight against Sonny Liston was considered one of “the most exciting and intense” fight watched in world history. Joe Frazier vs. Muhammad Ali 1 was in 1971 in New York City, New York.
