Dangers of making assumptions, not asking enough questions and miscommunication can lead to issues between two people or a group of people. In the clip “Does Your Dog Bite?” both men lack the ability to not have these issues. They both don’t ask questions that lead to a deeper understanding of the situation resulting in one of the man being bite by the dog. Both men don’t understand what the other one is saying which leads to them assuming and miscommunicating. Reflecting back on the clip, there was miscommunication between both of them. One man didn’t understand that the other wanted a room, however they finally reached an understanding. Some people might believe that making assumptions is part of being a human. It’s a natural reaction to fulfill a need to fill any missing information without waiting for all the facts. This is because humans are created to make sense of people and their situations. As much has someone wants to think they know what the other person is thinking, they don’t. The issue with that most of the time the story that created is incorrect which leads to complications. When someone ask questions instead of making assumptions, they might not get the answer they are looking for or what they want to hear. However, asking questions is better direction to go than making up their own story because then they are in a better position to take the next step. Asking enough questions is a powerful and thought provoking tool that makes the workplace flow smoother and help resolve problems that might come up. Instead of just making assumptions to find out what someone problem is, asking open ended questions will give both the listener and speaker the ability to answer and suspend
