Many definitions of the Learning Trajectory (LT) are used in various studies and even use a variety of terms to define these constructs. Simon (1995) is expert who first introduced the term of LT with Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT). Another term that is often used is the learning trajectory (Douglas H. Clements, & Sarama 2004), learning progressions (Corcoran, Mosher & Rogat 2009; National Research Council 2007; C. L. Smith et al. 2006). However, the use of different terms to refer to the student learning path. The learning process of students in the class develops from an understandable context to complex understanding context which can be relatively predictable. According to Daryanto and Tasrial (2012), theory of RME consistent with theory of growing current study, such as constructivism and contextual Teaching and Learning. However, both constructivism and contextual represent general learning theory, RME is an approach specifically developed for learning mathematics. Freudhental (1971) in Daryanto and Tasrial (2012) instead that RME combines view of what the mathematics, how students learn mathematics and how mathematics should be taught. Based on the above background, a study is conducted by using contextual problems as an effort to enhance student conceptual understanding of…show more content…
