Aboriginal Canadians believe that without land there is no meaning to life. Land is something that has been a part of the Aboriginal culture for generations (“Meaning of land to Aboriginal Canadians”). This land is causing the Aboriginals to lose focus on all other issues in their life. Having their land repaired or replaced with homes in towns and cities will benefit the Aboriginal Canadians. The loss of land is not the biggest problem facing the Aboriginal Canadians as the Aboriginal Canadians could survive without large tracts of land, the development of these parcels of land would help the Aboriginal Canadians economically and may solve other existing problems for these people. To begin, there are greater problems facing the Aboriginal Canadians. The majority of Aboriginal Canadians are not well educated which makes it difficult for them to get jobs (Aboriginal Women’s Issue). Suicide and murder are also very common issues in the Aboriginal Canadian community (Aboriginal Women’s Issues). Aboriginal women are murdering or are getting murdered at a much higher rate than non-aboriginals (Aboriginal Women’s Issues). Aboriginal kids are also having a rough time being 50% of the population that lives in foster homes (Aboriginal education vexes Martin, Canada.). Poor education may be the cause of an individual performing actions that are unacceptable like homicide. Instead of hunting, fishing and planting crops, Aboriginals can access all the essential resources they need to survive in an easier manner (Fillion, 38). Aboriginal Canadians can still maintain connections with the land without physically having possession of it (Fillion, 38). Spending a lot of time doing tasks like hunting for food instead of purchasing it will decrease time that can be used for working at a job or being taught at
