Definition Essay The first one to tell you that Kanye West is a genius is Kanye West. According to Thomas Edison, “Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration.” According to Arthur Koestler in his 1964 book The Act of Creation, “The principal mark of a genius is not perfection but originality, the opening of new frontiers.” According to Merriam-Webster, genius is “a person who has a level of talent or intelligence that is very rare or remarkable”.
