On the 22-24 of September, I had the pleasure to see the exhibition: “Beyond Classification” in the Curry Gallery here at Watkins College of Art. The show featured eight young Egyptian women whose artwork seemingly questioned the roles of their society through photography and film. How the pieces were organized is what first caught my attention when stepping into the gallery. Videos were split into three sections: on the left of the entrance, on the right and straight ahead towards the back of the gallery; the rest of the gallery featured photographs.
