With organizations possessing a variety of resources, it is safe to say that what sets each organization apart is the physical manpower produced by the employees that are hired by human resources. The human resources department is undoubtedly responsible for the work force of that business. In today’s society, it’s these people that create the competitive advantage of the business, not just individual departments or the work produced by them. Each HR pitch in the modern organization should have a main focus of developing or retaining the competitive advantage. A successful method which this could be carried out is online surveys in the fields that each employee feels generally weak in. HR can aid this process by providing workshops and training programs to benefit those in need and in the long run, the stakeholders. Also found in a more modern and tailored organizations are personality test which are test that are series of standardized tasks, used to measure personality characteristics or to discover personality disorders. With personality tests, this may benefit HR to the extent that the applicants recruited for the opening will actually match the position they are placed in. As organizations are starting to lean to the concept of giving back and not focus solely on maximizing profits, there are a number of ways in which HR has assisted this process. An example of this could be the annual scholarships that are allocated to students in need or simply perusing a dream. Since it is highly emphasized that education is the key to success, this is a great way to stabilize the upcoming generation but also a strategic plan in which to hire those that were funded by such scholarships. Also take into consideration the amount of charity work a firm can partake in.
