Although colleges and employers are demanding more and more of high school graduates these days, extending high school to a fifth year would be a tumulus result. In this age of constant stress and where increased pressure is encouraged, it is not required or necessary of high schools to drag out the process any further. Studies have shown that most of what is learned in high school is unnecessary anyways. As many students nowadays know, high school is no longer about learning. It is about passing tests and getting good grades at whatever the cost, and this does not highlight a healthy education system. This encourages students to be more accustomed for future tasks such as filling out paperwork at a cubicle rather than critical thinking
