Hezbollah utilized violence, political participation, and social assistance to effectively achieve their goals. The first goal set forth in “The Open Letter” to expel all foreign entities from Lebanon, especially Israelis was achieved in May of 2000. According to the LA Times, on May 24, 2000, Hezbollah finally forced the Israelis out of Lebanon, ending 22 years of occupation. This was a big step for the group towards their goals, utilizing military violence, guerrilla warfare tactics, and financial backing from Iran, they finally liberated Lebanon, and fulfilled their first goal laid out in “The Open Letter.” Hezbollah has also established a strong political presence which is necessary to complete their objective of allowing the citizens
