Exposures analyzed were health promotion lifestyle measures. The Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile (HPLP) II is a standardized 52-item instrument that uses a Likert-type behavior rating scale (1= never to 4 = always) composed of a total scale and six subscales to measure behaviors in the following theorized dimensions: health responsibility (HR), physical activity (PA), nutrition (NUT), spiritual growth (SG), interpersonal relations (IR), and stress management (SM).66 The overall scale offers a comprehensive, holistic measure of an individual’s body, mind, and spiritual dimension in addition to framing their relationships with others and the environment.58 The subscales [Table 4.2] measure health promoting behaviors in six specific dimensions.
