The lack of obtainable knowledge of the animals brought forth the downfall of Animal Farm. When the pigs came to manipulate the rules the other animals didn't have the intelligence to understand what was going on. The pigs took advantage of the other animal’s stupidity and let themselves live in luxury. The pigs had told the animals that if they do not take the apples, theirbrains would not be fed and that Jones would come back, so the apples “ should be reserved for the pigs alone.”(36) The animals lacked the intelligence to understand what was really going on, to the point where they could not stand up for themselves.
