Anxiety is defined as the state of feeling troubled and uneasy. Anxiety is a term used to describe different types of disorders that causes: fear, nervousness, worrying and apprehension. These forms of disorders may affect how a person can feel and behave. There are two classifications of anxieties: mild and severe. Mild anxiety is known to be vague and unsettling whereas, severe anxiety can be extremely exhausting therefore having a serious impact on one’s lifestyle. Anxiety is considered a problem when the symptoms hinder with a person’s ability to sleep or function. According to The Medical News Today “People often experience a general state of worry or fear before confronting something challenging such as a test, examination, recital, or interview. These feelings are easily justified and considered normal.” There are many different types of Anxieties, a few of these groups are; Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Generalised Anxiety Disorder this is a long-term condition that causes one to feel anxious about a wide range of situations and issues rather than one specific event. The exact cause of panic attacks has not been fully understood. However, it is believed that the condition is linked to a combination of physical and physiological factors. Panic attacks is sometimes associated with nausea, sweating and it can also cause the heart to beat abnormally. The number of attacks a person can have depends on the severity of their condition: some people can have one or two attacks in a month, while others can have numerous attacks a week.
