Introduction to social work task one Care value base The care value base is a range of the highest standards for health and social care which is designed to guide the practice of professionals working in an area. The overall aim of the standards is to improve the client’s quality of life by ensuring that each person gets the care that is most appropriate for them as an individual. Confidentiality of information Confidentiality of information means that any information that has been given in confidence by any of your clients is not only private but also strictly confidential whether it is verbal, written or electronic. Verbal means a conversation which is face to face, written could mean either through a letter or via text and electronic means via emails, the only time you can break confidentiality is when the client’s actions can cause harm to themselves or other individual’s, the only time you can discuss a client’s details is with their consent.
