Introduction Leadership is a complex process which is sesen in very different forms and situations. One example of Leadership can be seen when watching the Disney Pixar film, The Incredibles. one particularly impressive leader in the movie is Elastigirl (Helen). Elastigirl not only juggles saving lives with being married, but she also juggles parenting three children. While Mr. Incredible (Bob) also shows excellent leadership in the movie, Elastigirl’s ability to remain calm in intense situations while leading her two children -- Violet and Dash -- into the superhero world is intriguing. Mr. Incredible jumps and catches the falling man mid-air and both the jumper and Mr. Incredible crash through a skyscraper window; the jumper is immediately rendered unconscious. Once crashing through the window Mr. Incredible finds that a bomber is inside the building causing mischief. Mr. Incredible is about to stop the bomber when one of Mr. Incredible’s biggest fans arrives wearing a superhero costume. This fan and young boy -- Buddy -- proclaims that he wants to be Mr. Incredible’s sidekick, an idea that is preposterous to Mr. Incredible who only “works alone.” After Mr. Incredible sternly tells Buddy to go back home the bomber attaches a bomb to the boys cape and in the process of Mr. Incredible saving the boy, train tracks get blown up and a train full of people are injured (Walker & Bird, 2004). After this incident, and after successfully marrying Elastigirl; the alive suicide jumper files a case against Mr. Incredible in an attempt to sue him for injuring him when he was “rudely” prevented from committing suicide; all of the train passengers who received injuries in the chaos, all begin filing cases as well. Helen’s self control and stable emotions were also evident in this movie. At one point in the movie, Elastigirl tells the kids to use their powers if something goes wrong; Violet immediately begins to talk, saying that Helen had previously said to never use their powers. Elastigirl, frustrated by Violet’s response, yells “I know what I said!” Right as Elastigirl yells this, she realizes that she is responding too harshly and she immediately softens her tone and begins to explain the danger of the situation in a calm but powerful way. Elastigirl did get frustrated and she did yell but she immediately realized what she was doing and she quieted her tone -- I believe this shows emotional maturity; she not only pursues self control and
