Technology is a large part of our society that has increased rapidly, and steadily improves, yet it has a negative effect on people of newer generations. New technology is a distraction to humans and it hinders people. According to, Technology and the Interrupted Brain, by Pat Galagan; more people have become more reliable on the technology which allows them not to have to think as much for themselves. The increase in technology causes people to suffer from the dependencies such as a phone, reduced focus in learning and reduction of profitable skills.. The use of technology has increased to a point that has made humans lazy and dumber. A current phones save the phone numbers of people. No doubt this feature of technology is very helpful, but in cases of emergencies people rely on the numbers stored in a cell phone and are unable to call for help other than 911.
