Education Informative Speech

Good morning. I would like to start off by thanking the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority for allowing me to attend today to address the issue of our educational system. Ladies and gentleman, students these days are strapped into an outdated, one size fits all pathway instead of been provided with the individual attention they need to be able to graduate. These old fashion routines demonstrate that the educational system has not adapted to the changing needs of students and proceeds to be out of alignment with the ever changing workforce. At the end of this year our society will be introducing new graduates, from across all 9,444 schools in Australia, to the ‘adult world’. Between these school 3,849,225 students were enrolled and not one of them will be prepared for their future due to our failure of an educational system. He stated “The school system is designed to teach children obedience and conformity and prevent the child’s natural capacities from developing.” Because of students not being able to find what they enjoy and what they excel at, many students are going into the workforce unsure of what they want to be and are not starting work or extra studies until much later in life. Our brain has two different sides to it, the left being for facts whereas the right hand side is dynamic and creative. This is where our problem lies and we must acknowledge it because our schools are left brain based and our world is changing more and more each day into a right brain world. This is yet another issue that has not been acknowledged by the Australian Curriculum but it cannot be neglected
