Collaboration In A School Psychologist

Collaboration can play a significant role for a school psychologist, especially when they may encounter a situation that they aren’t familiar with or lack experience in. Ms. Enriquez mentioned that she consults with other school psychologist and will often times refer to them for advice or to bounce different ideas on approaching a situation. As mentioned in the textbook, “In order for school psychologists to be successful problem solvers, they must be able to effectively collaborate and consult with parents, teachers, other service providers, and other individuals who work directly with students.” (Jacob; Decker, p236). Often times she’ll have to collaborate with other professionals such as a Speech Language Pathologist or a Special Education
