I am reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I am on page 42. So far this book is about a young girl named Scout who has many adventures with her older brother Jem and their friend Dill. She is just starting school, a first grader, who has some run-ins with her teacher and other classmates. Jem and Scout have had a lifetime fear of a man named Boo Radley, a creep and a malevolent man who has made many crimes in their hometown of Maycomb. I will be using the reading strategies predict and evaluate. G- I predict the kids will not meet Boo. Y- He has not been seen. R- Locked up in house from crimes R- Rumors from townspeople of sightings Y- The kids are scared of him. R- Stabbed father R- Eats animals, scary physical descriptions G- These are the reasons why I think the kids won’t meet Boo.…show more content…
He’s been locked away in his house by his father and hasn’t been seen for about 15 years. His entire family don’t go to any social events, and never go to church on Sundays. Some gossipers of the town have reported sightings of Boo looking through window shutters at night, and poking around in people’s yards. Jem and Scout are scared of Boo because when he was thirty-three, he stabbed his father for no reason with a knife while cutting up a magazine. He’s also been accused of eating animals and scratching people’s screens at night. His physical characteristics also are frightening to the children. He’s been said to have yellow teeth, a big scar on his face, and drools. These are the reasons why I think the kids won’t meet Boo
