Many teens are questioning if college is the right path. Between the increasing costs of tuition and jobs that need a college degree, people are wondering if it’s worth it. Having doubt is understandable, but going to college helps reassure one’s future. College is turning into one of the only ways to become successful. It’s worth all of the struggle, because it helps build character and skills. In the long run, a college education benefits one in many ways. With a college education, one can gain a higher income. According to Clayton (2011), “Individuals with bachelor’s degree earn about 60 percent more than those with just a highschool diploma.” That’s a huge gap between the earnings of high school and college graduates. This shows that college graduates have better paying jobs and are more successful. A college education is the way to go for a life with more luxuries.…show more content…

According to Rotherham (2011), “ in 2010, the unemployment rate was 9.2 percent for those with only some college and more than 10 percent for those with just a high school degree, but it was 5.4 percent for college graduates.” The unemployment rates of college graduates are half those of high school graduates.
