Although I speak Australian English, within my Australian English, I speak in a few different tones and variation depending on the group I am conversing with. When I am speaking with my immediate family I speak simple English, I use terms of endearment and sometimes I speak firmly. Even so, we sometime become confuse if we are talking about work, as we tend to use the related jargon, and we realise we have to explain. With extended family, again there is a difference as I would address the elderly member of my family with deference and with the younger members I would speak on their level. Whilst addressing my colleagues within a childcare setting, I use a more formal approach and the discourse within the Discourse, which would be meaningless
