“Only a fool is not afraid.”― Madeleine L'Engle, A Wrinkle in Time. For example, Charles Wallace was not afraid and he got hypnotized by the man with red eyes. The story is about how when Meg was young her dad and mom were interested in science and her dad believed in a thing called a tesseract which you can teleport and he tessered once to this place where everything is beautiful except for the darkness. The darkness is controlled by the eviless mind ever named IT. IT has taken Meg’s dad. He has been gone for 4 years which has tore Meg apart until some of Charles Wallace’s friends helped them go to save their dad. So they went to the island where Mrs. Whatsit took them to the dark. The story had more key moments than the movie. For example the grey planet that the beasts had healed Meg on.The book states “Now she was able to look around a little, and everything she could see was rusty and gray.” (pg 85) This quote shows the story is better because in the movie the grey planet is not even mentioned which shows the more detail in the book than the movie. In the movie this never happened. This makes the story better because this had raised the climax because the black thing was hurting her and the beasts had saved her but she had to go back in without the beasts and she had to save them…show more content…

It was the way he sounded sometimes when he came home from his laboratory after a good day and began to tell his wife about his work. (pg 74)This section of the book is powerful because it shows how happy Meg’s dad is to actually see the outside world in a while. It also shows how worried he was for his family.
