It was the summer of 5th grade, the year where I took the most unbelievable trip of my life. My family and I went out into the Western United States to see America at its most breathtaking. We drove our entire trip, and our first stop was in the Black Hills of South Dakota, full of breathtaking views of rock formations. Our trip continued to its peak location, Yellowstone National Park. We then ended with a trip to the Rocky Mountains, which contained many marvelous views of nature at its finest. America is truly a stunning place if you find it at it’s finest. Something else stunned me once we arrived into the new territory; the bountiful hordes of bison, as well as other wildlife. I found it quite fascinating how copious wildlife was in the Western United States compared to the occasional deer here at home. Just travelling through the open prairies which contained bison, deer, alongside the occasional sighting of gazettes and moose was enough to make the whole experience of the trip unforgettable and eventful. From the moment we arrived in the park, I was awestruck. The beautiful steaming hot springs with tints of red and orange mixed into the deep blues, and even rarely purples. Being that Yellowstone is essentially just a volcano, roaring and ready to erupt, there are many very beautiful geysers. The most stunning of these is Old Faithful, a geyser that erupts approximately every hour. Showing nature’s rawl power, the geyser erupts with an insurmountable magnitude, spewing steaming hot water from deep below the surface into the air above. It was qutie an amazing display of shear force, and was quite exhilarating to see in person. My parents and I also saw many mud pots, which were bubbling hot areas of mud and other substances.
