Abstract Vocabulary learning has always been a major concern for those who want to learn a second language. The present study aimed at determination the role of games on kid's vocabulary learning. The study was conducted with twenty students they were divided into the experimental group and the control group . The result with the experimental group was superior to those of the control group. Games not only bring fun to the class, but they also motivate students and build their confidence. The study was conducted at two institutes Iran Language : (N=10 boys) as an experimental group and Kish institutes (N=10 boys) as a control group. Laufer (1997) states that vocabulary learning is at the center of language learning and language use. Vocabulary learning is an intrinsic part of language teaching . It is one element that links the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing all together (Thanh Huyen & Thi Thu Nga, 2003). Although vocabulary has been the subject of many studies, few researches have revealed the effective strategy of vocabulary teaching. So it is of prime importance to attempt to find the most effective way of vocabulary teaching . Based on Allen (1983), all experienced language teachers ratify the important role of words and know that the absence of them leads to feeling of insecurity. Vocabulary is an inseparable part of any language learning process. It would be unfeasible to learn a language without vocabulary. The important role of vocabulary has been underline in all different methods in language teaching. Q3: Do language games enhance kids’ motivation? Ho: games have no effect on kid's Vocabulary Learning. Methodology Participants The research population included 10 years old kids and they are at their beginning level of EFL learning. They were randomly selected from 2 institutes: ILI (10 boys) as experimental group and Kish (10 boys ) as the control group . The learners were exposed to identical vocabulary list. Materials Four games four games were considered for this research; hang man, magic box, angry circles and flash card games. These games consists of different hard words which students are going to study. Other materials which will be used in this study included a textbook ,Whiteboard, Markers .
