The American Dream is about the life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness of the people of the United States. In America people have a dream and that dream is to live a good lifestyle, have equal rights and to also have happiness in their everyday lives. The American Dream was not a dream, but it was a reality for Americans.("Library of Congress") The first topic of this essay is about the lives of Americans. During the earlier time period in history, people's lives were hard. The hardships that families faced were family members dying of diseases, not having enough food for their families due to the shortage in the states, and the men going to fight in the war. Throughout this time period there were wars and in the streets of cities and states there was complete chaos. With all of these hardships that Americans faced in their everyday lives they got through it. A quote from Theodore Roosevelt says that "This country will not be a good place for any of us to live in unless we make it a good place for all of us to live in." This right also states that to the Liberty and the people because they have freedom of speech, freedom of religion and can express their opinions however they choose to do so. The pursuit of happiness also is a part of the American dream and is used throughout American history. It help Americans get the many things they deserved.
