Amongst the worry about monolingual and multilingual in Speaking in Tongues, I connected with one student in particular Durell. In the following paper, I hope to flush out both arguments and how they impact this particular child’s life. In the movie there are two main arguments that both bring up similar but also different points, English only and multilingual. Both sides of the argument focused on bettering are children’s lives.
