Shame Style Analysis Essay (FD) In “Shame,” Dick Gregory demonstrates and describes the protagonist's feelings and thoughts through use of point of view and imagery. In “Shame” the protagonist is a poor boy in love with a girl named Helene who is trying to be happy while his self esteem is constantly being tested by his peers and adults. To begin, the protagonist is deeply in love with a girl named Helen. In paragraph 1, page 142, the author wrote “I was In Love With a little girl named Helene Tucker, a light complexioned little girl with pigtails and nice manners.
