“Who Framed Roger Rabbit” Haven’t we all heard of this movie or watched this movie as a child growing up? “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” has been around since 1988 and is an American live-action fantasy-comedy and classical film. For those of you who might not have heard of this classic comedy, it’s the story of a cartoon character named Roger Rabbit who exists alongside of real humans. Eventually, it is revealed that Marvin Acme, the owner of Acme Company and of Toontown, has been murdered! Roger Rabbit was being accused of his murder. Sadly, the only person who can prove Roger Rabbit’s innocence is a washed-up alcoholic. It was up to Roger Rabbit and Eddie to bring Roger to justice! Starting with one of the major points in determining how this movie is an example of a classic comedy is by the fact that it has a happy ending. That’s how you mostly determine if the movie is a tragedy or classic comedy. If the movie was ending in death, or someone being arrested, awful, horrific events then that would be catergozied by being known as a tragedy movie. If the movie has a happy, peaceful, and positive ending then it would be catergozied by classic comedy. For example, the ending of the movie shows how Roger Rabbit didn’t murder Marvin Acme, it was a positive ending because they proved Roger Rabbit’s innocence and he didn’t have to suffer in jail or be blamed for something he didn’t…show more content…
This movie is known as a classical comedy because it has been around for so many years. Many of us grow up watching this movie at some point during our childhood. I remember when I was younger I was obsessed with bunnies and went through a stage where I wanted to have bunny everything. I won’t forget when I was at my grandma’s house and she played this movie for me. I was so obsessed with Roger and fascinated with him I probably watched the movie over twenty times. When I mentioned this essay to my grandma she told me how I never got sick of watching Roger the rabbit. “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” has been around since 1988, we are now in 2015 and the movie is still heard of. To me that itself makes it a classical movie. Something that never gets old or people get tired of
