My Best Job Interview Rejection is a dish served cold; “no we don’t need anyone right now.” “Thank you for your interest in us, we’ll keep you in mind should anything became available.” It felt like these words were my life story, they burn into my memory like a flame, diminishing every bit of hope of ever rejoining the work force with every rejection from potential employers. I had just migrated from Barbados to the United States with my one- year-old son to join my husband [name], who had been living here for quite some time. We were settled in Brooklyn, New York to begin our new life as a family. As always, one major priority was to go along with any new beginnings is to get an employment. Therefore, I had to begin the process of seeking acceptance in the employment industry in an unfamiliar place. Since my move, I had gone back to school so I could obtain my license as Certified Nursing Assistant. And upon completion of my program, I became excited for the possibility of starting a new career. I continue by stating I attended the Allen school where I obtained my C.N.A license. I also told her about my husband James and my son whose name is also James, but we call him Jamie and he is two years old. She was looking at me the entire time, always making eye contact with such a pleasant face, she seems interested in me and what I had to say. “So when you start working who will take care of your son?
