Chargemaster Compliance Report
184 Words1 Page
The chargemaster (CDM) needs to be updated at least annually to reflect ongoing code changes. CPT codes need to be changed in the CDM in order to meet compliance. They need to be reviewed for any additions, changes, or deletions by the American Medical Association. Also, HCPCS Level II codes are updated yearly and should be modified in the CDM. A Chargemaster Compliance Committee will be formed and is responsible for updating and auditing the chargemaster for compliance.
The process for updating is as follows:
1. Appoint representatives from various departments that use the system
2. Meet and define any changes
3. Gather audit supplies, references, and tools
4. Audit (review and validate) data within the CDM fields and note all inconsistencies
