Odysseus was a Trojan War hero in both Greek and Roman mythology. He came up with the idea of the Trojan Horse, a giant, hollow wooden horse that the Greek warriors climbed into in order to sneak into Troy. Most Greeks know this hero as Odysseus, while most Romans know him by his Latin name, Ulysses. The meaning of the name Odysseus is victim of hate which will be explained further later in the report. Odysseus lived around 1200 B.C.E., also known as the Bronze Age. The two most famous stories telling about Odysseus’ journey are Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey. The Iliad focusses on events that occurred during the Trojan War, while the Odyssey explain the ten-year long journey as Odysseus struggled to return to Ithaca, the island he ruled. The Odyssey
