“I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal.’” (American Rhetoric) We have all heard these words and know who spoke them. But do we really know about the great man that uttered those amazing words? Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was born on January 15, 1929. He was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He went to college at age 15. After he was married and had 4 children, he completed his Ph.D. when he was only 25 years old. Once he gave his “I Have A Dream” speech, he also received the Nobel Peace Prize. Dr. King was a man that believed in equality for everyone. Dr. King was an inspiration in many ways, brought other people together to work for peace, and had a wonderful dream about equal rights and freedom amongst all people. King inspired many different Americans, brought others together to work for peace, and had a touching dream that triggered something in everyone’s mind, telling them to stop being cruel to African-Americans. Unfortunately, Dr. King wasn’t alive to see all of these wonderful Americans of all different skin colors trying to continue his dream of equality and peace for all. He and his dream have helped shaped America and the phenomenal Americans in it. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. inspired many people through his teachings, actions, writings, and much more. He brought people together by inspiring them that they can make a difference. His dream was remarkable. It is essential that we live out his dream so that the world can be a better place. One of Dr. King’s most famous quotes is, “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” (King) Dr. King did just that. He didn’t know if his dream would work out. But because he had faith, it worked. And who knows, maybe we will take his dream a step farther and go for world
