Golf; a four letter word that means completely different things to different people. To some, it’s hardly a sport that is only played by old retired people; to others, it’s a game that they enjoy to get away from work on weekends. For me however, golf represents something far greater- it’s almost a separate lifestyle. Golf is an integral part of my life, and through numerous tournaments, fun rounds with other juniors at Brampton Golf Club, and hard hours of practice, I have realized that this sport
memoir, Discovering Wes Moore by Wes Moore is bursting at the seams with messages about life. My first quote is about work ethic and why it is important to be surrounded by supporting people. “Hard work is essential, but you also need people around you that believe you can make it. Otherwise, if you don’t think you can succeed, what would you bother working for?” (Moore 101). This quote means a lot to me because my family has raised me with a hardworking mentality. Working hard in school has earned
Hi Mrs. Zackin, Here is my essay for the movie assignment. The movie “The Greatest Game Ever Played” is a pure classic underdog story. It's a movie based on a true story about a boy named Francis Ouimet who is in love with the game of Golf. Unfortunately, only the prominent rich families are aloud to play such a game and he was only able to afford to caddy. He would take his Golf club and ball and practice long nights in his room. But because of who he was, the world was never able to see the
played sports all my life, including soccer, basketball and baseball, etc. My father has encouraged me to venture into the world of bodybuilding. When he was younger, he used to spend many hours working out. He was able to squat 1,125 lb, bench 575 lbs, and 1,100 deadlift, That is why I recently decided to follow in his footsteps and got into bodybuilding and Powerlifting. Currently I'm able to squat 505 lbs and Deadlift 410 lbs everyday. Hopefully someday I will surpass my father. My two brothers
Twins from Birth Every decision may change someone's fate. Every little decision matters, it could change someone's life or kill them. F. Scott Fitzgerald had created both Winter Dreams and The Great Gatsby. The two stories are quite similar ,but also very unique in their own way. Gatsby and Dexter both come from either poor or middle class families. The two just want to fit into the higher class and both of them needed the last piece to becoming apart of the higher class. The location Gatsby and
Bill Murray has affected many people because of the way he lived his life; he made many people laugh, and he was a great actor. He also made many funny movies that was a great hit to many. He affected people by showing them that there is always a smile in something. And the way he lived his life many people thought he wasn’t going to be such a great hit but he changed that. Bill Murray was born in Illinois, born on September 21, 1950 (bio .com). His parents had five kids he was the fifth one
remain the same for the most part. The same actors are kept, the same attitudes remain in how they interact. It is mainly reactions and integral facts that are altered in Bill and Betty's character. In “Foreplay”, however, we are given an insight to three different realities where it is left ambiguous as to whether we are viewing three different potentials. The actors themselves change, names change, integral life facts also change, yet we and the characters are left with an odd sense of Deja Vu as we
inner strength. I learned this when I was involved in a UTV accident that caused serious injury to my right shoulder. I still remember how I felt as it happened. It was an experience that has changed my life and taught me just how strong I really am. I remember me and my brother, Jon, had just finished fixing a used bright, shiny red go-kart. It was beautiful, fast, and gleamed in the July sun. My grandparents were over and we are showing off for them, like teenage boys with a new toy do. We started
My research question, “how do the women in Fitzgerald’s fiction, specifically in the novels “The Beautiful and The Damned” and “The Great Gatsby”, relate to the stereotypical 1920’s woman in the authors perspective?” allows me to explore the female characters in two of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s popular novels, which I read throughout my summer vacation. Both of these novels have a similar setting and many of the characters in both plots are similar in several ways. I decided to investigate this area
I get off my bunk bed, the moment I step foot on the floor, I immediately get ready for the day. The time at that point was 6:50 a.m., and everyone was still asleep. I awoke early so I could get to school early and not late. On regular days I would have to wait for my ride to take us at around 7:45 a.m.. But this day I didn't feel like waiting that much time to get to school. Instead I set up my clothes and supplies so I wouldn't be scouring around my room looking for things. I had my clothes set
