The answer of this question is almost exactly overlapping with the first one. Therefore, I am going to just simply add my experience in the same process. The product I have chosen is “Golf”. I started playing golf 15 years ago to have a good time with my father. However, my handicap is still about 20, and it means that I’m not a good golfer (the average handicap for men is 14.7 in the US). It is an acceptable score because I had been playing golf only several times in a year in Korea due to the rip-off fees. When my parents, wife, and I play golf (18 hole, has a membership), we have to pay about $1,000 USD ($700 for green fee, $200 for caddy fee and cart fee, $100 for meals which must purchase as a courtesy). That is too much burden for my family because we are not as rich as people who do not care that money.…show more content…
In my father’s case, he doesn’t have any choice but golf because he is too old to play tennis which had been his life. Golf is the only sport that a 70-year-old man can enjoy without physical taxing. I think his explicit and implicit goals are almost same. However, in my case, explicit and implicit goals are very different. Especially in Korea, if a 25-year-old young man plays golf, it means that he might be rich, or he is preparing to become a business person because golf is a very essential tool to build relationships between successful business people or politicians in Korea. In fact, it is a major reason why Korean golf club is the most expensive in the world. For example, the most popular membership of “Benest” golf club is $600,000 per member. The reason of its outstanding price is only the fact that Samsung is the owner of the club, and the most of their executives play golf there.
