A religion is an organized collection of beliefs, cultural systems, and world views that relate humanity to an order of existence. There are many different types of religions in the world however, there are five major world religions. These five are Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Even though theses religions are different they all have similarities with one another. There are many similarities between Hinduism and Christianity, one similarity would be that they both believe having a good moral code can lead to a better after life. One is that while Christianity is a monotheistic religion Hinduism is a polytheistic religion. What this means is that monotheistic religions, like Christianity, believe in only one god. However, polytheistic religions (like Hinduism) believe in many gods. The Hindus believe in many gods such as Vishnu or Krishna is the preserver of all of the creations, Shiva is the destroyer, and Ganges the goddess from the Ganges river. The Ganges river is a holy body of water located in India. When you take a bath in the river it is believed that the river purifies and brings peace to the soul. Not only that the river is presumed to cleanse the soul of the sins they have committed. The Christians on the other hand believe in one god and the holy trinity. The holy trinity is the presumption that god the father, god the son, and god the holy spirit is all one being. Not only that, Christians base their lives off the life of Jesus on earth. When Jesus was on earth he thought about Christianity and the criteria a Christian needs to follow to live in heaven after death.
