Lab Report- Fast Plant Abstract - In the 1800s a scientists by the name of Gregor Mendel began to study pea plants and began to gather sufficient evidence to explain how inheritance works. Mendel studied discrete and contracting traits of pea plants. For example, traits that he studied included tall vs. short plants and purple vs. white flower plants. His studies would lead him to develop two principles of genetics. The Law of Segregation and the Law of Independent Assortment. Our experiment with the Wisconsin fast plant is designed to see evidence of these two principles. The Wisconsin fast plant, which was developed by Professor Emeritus Paul H.
