College is Worth the Investment “A college degree is the key to realizing the American dream, well worth the financial sacrifice because it is supposed to open the door to a world of opportunity.” A quote by Dan Rather. Those who graduate from college on average have greater wealth and a closer family. College is worth the investment because people who graduate from college have more yearly income, spend more time with their children, and are more likely to bring people together. The primary reason why college is worth the investment is that college graduates make more income opposed to those with only some college experience or just a high school diploma. The difference between the numbers of college graduate parents and high school graduate parents that read to their children is 27 percent. That means that more parents that graduate from college spend time reading and bonding with their children than high school graduate parents. There is still widespread dissatisfaction with higher education. In the same way, opponents believe that attending college is unequivocally not the right decision. Some believe that schooling is getting in the way of education, as advised by Mark Twain himself. Take Mark Zuckerberg the founder of Facebook or Bill Gates the founder of Microsoft, both of these great men were college dropouts and are held as evidence of why time in class is better spent somewhere else.
