For over 40 years, Apple has been a leading contributor to the way technology has evolved. Throughout its lifespan, Apple has created the iPod, iPhone, iPad, Mac, and its newest creation the Apple Watch. The apple watch is a smartwatch. A smartwatch is a computerized wristwatch which has a number of different functions with each model offering something new and unexpected to the user. The Apple watch is a mobile device with a touchscreen display, designed to be worn on the wrist. Apple was not the first company to think of a smartwatch. People have become very health conscious. The apple watch allows users to monitor their daily exercise. It is unique because instead of counting steps or calories, the Apple Watch focuses more on the user’s overall health and well-being. Apple offers three rings of goals; move, exercise, and stand. The Move ring is basically the step goal, but measured in active calories. The apple watch will set the target goal based on the user’s daily averages. The ring is filled by moving around and elevating the heart rate. The exercise ring is exactly what it sounds like, it tracks users exercise and shows them when they’ve hit their goal. Finally, the stand ring tracks how many times a day the users stand. If the user stands for one minute every hour for twelve hours the user will reach their goal. The apple watch also offers built in GPS allowing users the ability to leave their phone at home while monitoring their fitness activities. It also has a number of built in sensors, including a gyroscope, an accelerometer, and infrared LEDs to measure the users heart rate.
