DIGITAL ASSIGNMENT 3 TOPIC - WATER ISSUES Water is a colourless and transparent chemical substance which is the main constituent of Earth's lakes, streams, and oceans, and the fluids of many living organisms. The chemical formula of water is H2O Water molecule contains 2 hydrogen atoms and 1 oxygen atom connected to each other by covalent bonding. Water refers to the liquid state of the substance, which prevails at standard ambient pressure and temperature ; but it is also often referred to its solid state (ice) or its gaseous state ( water vapour or steam ). It also occurs in nature as glaciers, snow , ice packs and icebergs, fog, dew, clouds, aquifers, and atmospheric humidity. Clean or safe drinking water is becoming scarce day by day. Today, about one billion people in this developing world do not have access to resources of water. Yet, we are taking it for granted, we are continuously wasting it, and we also pay too much money to drink it from small plastic bottles. Part of this kind of challenge also includes addressing the pollution of Ganga river,which is home to nearly approximately 400 million people. The river receives about approximately 1.3 billion of litres of waste products , along with 260 million of litres of industrial waste product , run off from nearly six million tons of fertilizers and nine thousand tons of pesticides which are being used in agriculture related processes , thousands of the animal carcasses and hundreds of human corpses are released into the river every day for spiritual rebirth of the corpse.
