Abstract Dementia is the progressive deterioration of a largely irreversible clinical syndrome in cognitive function- the ability to process thought. Dementia is a significant burden issue all over the world due to under detection, prevalence rate increasing dramatically, diagnostic misconception and sub-optimal management in primary care. Dementia seems difficult to diagnose in the early stages for health professionals (HPs) a substantial percentage of patients with cognitive signs and symptoms are missed- who are not adequately trained to diagnose it in the earlier stages of its cognitive impairment. The first chapter is introduction, second chapter is litretaure review. The third is first study with GPs and third is a realist review of interventions aimed at improving knowledge, detection practices and management of dementia among health professionals. Likewise, the fitfth chapter is multi experts and sixth study is nurses. All three studies are concerned with the Gps, Nurses, and multi experts. The sixth chapter is review study, Likewise, seventh chapter is conclusion. This thesis focuses on dementia and its sailent issues with the health workers on the aspects of knowledge, diagnosis, management and care obstacles in the hospitals. A questionnairy methods design was applied for 3 studies (Gps, multi experts and nurses) to obtain the objective from the health professionals and one systematic review of aimed at improving the management and quality of care of dementia in the health professonals. Questionnaires were conducted with the GPs, nurse and multi experts in Nepal about their knowledge, practices experinces, management and care obstacles with dementia disease. The sampling procedure were purposive sample with the health workers and data were collected and analysed in the aspects of (dementia knowledge, practices, obstacles, medication, management and care) the respondes’s answer in the questionnaire set.
