The movie I watched to compare to the book The Time Traveler’s Wife was Back to the Future. In the movie Back to the Future, the theme is standing up for yourself. The movie begins with Marty’s dad, George McFly being bullied by Biff at work, who we later find out Bif has been bullying George since high school. When Marty goes back in time and sees this he gets George to stand up to Bif when Bif attempts to take advantage of George’s future wife, Lorraine. Now that the past has changed, Marty returns to present time and finds his dad is now a successful writer and Bif works for George instead of the other way around since George stood up to Bif in high school. In the book, the theme is love. It is mostly shown through Henry and Clare throughout the whole book. Love is the reason how Clare and Henry stay together as a couple, it…show more content…
Clare expects him to be at their wedding and the birth of their child, but Henry disappears into the past. During the wedding, an older version of Henry had to cover for the present time Henry because present time Henry disappeared right before the wedding ceremony. Also right before Claire gives birth to their stillborn baby, Henry also disappears because Henry was so stressed and by the time Henry returns the baby was dead. In the movie the main character, Marty McFly is smooth. Marty is smooth by the way he easily rides the skateboard throughout the town while holding onto moving cars. Also, he escapes teenage Bif and his friends easily with a makeshift skateboard while Bif and his friends run into a truck filled with cow manure. Lastly, at the end of the movie he plays the song Johnny B Goode in front of the whole school at the dance. In the book, Henry refuses to mess with the past or reveals anything before it actually happens, but in the movie, Marty changes the past all the time altering the future/
