Your daughters are human and they will experience some good and bad days. You can empower them by giving encouraging messages often, like "You can do it", "I believe in you", or "You are a very talented!” Be sure to praise her efforts above all, as it is important to let her know that it is in the trying and the doing, including learning to deal with failure that she is going to succeed in life. With support from you, she'll be left with a positive attitude. Laugh and smile with her. I had to become a life coach for my oldest daughter when she was battling cancer, she had some days that she wanted to give up but I wouldn’t let her. If you have not developed a bond with your daughter you will most likely overlook the signs of abuse because young girls have a tendency to suffer in silence due to fear or they feel the need to protect their mother. It’s extremely important to pay attention to their behavioral patterns and if they are really young pay attention to how they interact with other children. Often little girls will point to their private areas and complain of pain or discomfort, it’s important to pay attention when a child is demonstrating this behavior. If your daughter has been abused and you didn’t know it, don’t beat yourself up, if you don’t know the warnings signs of sexual abuse it can hard to detect. It’s easier to recognize physical abuse over emotional or verbal abuse because scars and bruises can be seen from physical abuse. I was a victim of sexual abuse as a teenager and I never shared my abuse with my mother or an adult, I suffered in silence. As mother I was devastated when I found that my fourteen year old daughter had also experienced sexual abuse at the hand of her father. I blamed myself for not knowing but I can honestly say that I never thought that her father was capable of committing such an act. When I did find out I took immediate action and he was arrested.
