The U.S Armed Forces The United States Armed Forces are the military forces that serve the United States of America. The U.S Armed Forces and made to protect and defend the United States of America. All these Branches all have different jobs to do. If it wasn’t for our military our country would be very weak. The U.S. Armed Forces include five service branches: the Air Force, the Army, the Navy, the Marine Corps, and the Coast Guard. The President is the official Commander in Chief, policies of the Air Force, the Marine Corps, and the Navy is overseen by the Department of Defense, a federal department. Department of Homeland Security oversees the Coast Guard during peacetime, while the Coast Guard reports to the Department of Defense through…show more content…
But now days the military is so trained for a lot of jobs you have to go to military college and a year or two just to be able to get that job. Plus you have to go through basic training and a lot of other training. There are different forces in the military and they all have different jobs, some branches you are on the ground with a gun or in a tank or humvee. There’s forces where you will be flying in a plane or jet. And some important jobs where you are telling everybody what to do and where to go, which without them are military wouldn’t be nothing. And without the any of the military are country would be owned by another country because it is very easy to take over a country that doesn’t have a military. The Marines are trained for air, land, and sea operations, and often work closely with the Navy. The Coast Guard also has a very important role in peacetime, promoting boating safety, rescuing persons at sea, and preventing illegal immigration and criminal activity at sea.
