The ancient Indians were highly influenced by the Ganga River. In fact the Ganga River was one of the reasons they stayed around so long. This river gave them fertile soil, and also played a big role in their religious practices.(Ganga River) The ancient Indian civilization lasted from 3300 B.C. to 1500 B.C.(Kokila) Ancient India had broad social pyramid requirements. If it were not for the Ganga River or the other natural resources in the Indus Valley, the ancient Indian civilization would not have survived as long as they did. The Ganges River, also known as the Ganga River, played a big part in the survival of ancient India. Their social pyramid had only five levels and just because someone had a lot of money or were popular did not mean that they were automatically at the top, they had to be respectful and trustworthy.
