The policy I looked into was on immunizations issues. The adult immunization policy differs greatly from those for children. The adult immunization policy has few requirements and very little public health infrastructure supports mass vaccination of adults. There are no federal programs that help adults who may not have access to medical care or cannot afford recommended vaccines, however Medicare does cover influenza and pneumococcal vaccines for adults age 65 or older. The Adult Immunization Schedule recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) includes vaccine such as Hepatitis B, tetanus, and varicella.
