Academic Integrity Essay “Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing because it is right. These are the magic keys to living your life with integrity.” Said William Clement Stone a prominent businessman. Everyday there is constant cheating, dishonesty, lazy work, and copying of others work. That is what you see during a regular day of school whether in high school or college. Those are who do not follow academic integrity by not avoiding plagiarism, having moral character to show that you are honest in your writing. The first thing to do is just trying to avoid plagiarism no matter what, don’t be lazy and follow what you need to do to format everything right. Sometimes just putting that “I think I should put this down” just do it and then ask for help from someone before turning it in. If you didn’t have the page did not have the author, which he decided to not put any credit to the source ( ). Whether by accident or not, I had a friend of mine a good person but they were too lazy to go back and properly give credit to their sources. As in Houston Baptist University academic integrity is valued by “the development of moral character, enrichment of spiritual life and perpetuation of growth in Christian ideals ( )”. If you have the morals to do this then everything else in life will be easier. Most people struggle with a moral character in relationships and friendships, letting themselves become immoral in their selves. I had struggle with this, wondering if it is alright for me to say something or will it be immoral of me to do so.
