I would have Chris eating 4 meals per day and I would like Chris to start a food journal so I know he is consuming more calories then he is burning. I would also be watching his portion of protein, fat, and carbs using the 1-2-3 approach to meals. The first thing that Chris must do is to ensure that he is consuming adequate dietary protein. Since protein is essential for muscle growth this is the number one priority in regards to macronutrient intake. To increase Chris’s weight by 15 pounds to 135 pounds, Chris would have to have a daily protein intake of 224 grams. A fat intake of between 20-30 % of total calories will leave the largest percentage of his calories to come from carbohydrates. He needs 5 servings of meat, 2 small servings
